In this excerpt, a high school student named Amelia finds herself (and her hiking partner, Matthew) in a parallel world. In order to return to her world she must first access information from a past lifetime. Rather than simply remembering her lifetime, she finds herself experiencing a battle between the Russian Vedruss and the Roman Imperial Army.
